Yvonne Cobb is a broadcaster, chef and Deaf advocate who has broken barriers and achieved several notable firsts during her career. Yvonne is known as the first Deaf chef to appear on popular TV shows like This Morning (ITV) and Morning Live (BBC One), on which she has presented cookery demonstrations and promoted the use of British Sign Language (BSL). She is now one of Morning Live’s family of experts. Yvonne has also co-hosted BBC's See Hear since 2018 and became the first Deaf, female reporter on BBC News in 2022. Her other TV credits include Ainsley’s National Trust Cook Off for ITV. In addition to her broadcasting work, Yvonne is an award-winning entrepreneur who runs her own cookery business called Yumma Food. She utilises BSL to teach cookery and healthy eating skills to people of all ages, both in-person and online. With over 20 years of experience in teaching and assessing BSL, Yvonne also delivers training on various subjects to both Deaf and hearing communities. She has a particular focus on empowering women, raising awareness about menopause in BSL, and regularly shares cookery tips and recipes across her social media accounts. In 2023, Yvonne was awarded a special recognition award by the British Deaf Association. Outside of her professional life, Yvonne spends a lot of time with her husband and three grown up children, and enjoys a variety of interests including crafting, decorating, gardening, DIY, travel, cycling, pilates and yoga. Recently, she has developed a passion for cold water swimming.
